How it works

Set up in three steps.

  1. Prepare your revenue events

Use confirmed payment records from your billing backend. Keep purchase amounts, currency, and customer identity together.

  2. Add ad revenue

Send ad impressions and earnings with your app events. DataDad counts them per user and per day.

  3. Tie revenue to people

Every sale joins the customer and the campaign behind it. Lifetime value and return on ad spend fill in from there.

What is app monetization?

App monetization is how an app makes money. The common ways are subscriptions, one-time in-app purchases, and ads. Most apps use more than one.

Which revenue streams does DataDad track?

Subscriptions, one-time in-app purchases, and ad revenue. That includes trials, renewals, upgrades, churn, refunds, consumables, unlocks, and ad earnings per user.

How should I compare revenue with store reports?

Compare the same dates, currency, refund treatment, and fee basis. Customer charges and store payouts use different revenue bases. Keep the original billing records for reconciliation.

How is lifetime value calculated?

Lifetime value adds up everything one customer pays you and earns you: subscription payments, in-app purchases, and ad revenue, minus refunds. You can compare it by install month, platform, and campaign.

Can I see revenue by campaign?

Yes. Each purchase connects to the campaign that brought the customer in. See revenue, value per install, and return on ad spend for Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok. Mobile attribution.

Are these revenue examples gross or net?

The example amounts show customer charges before store and payment fees, after recurring discounts, and excluding taxes. Refunds appear separately. Use one currency and one revenue basis when comparing products. Contribution LTV deducts fees and service costs.

What data does revenue reporting need?

Send payment events from your trusted backend with an amount, currency, payment reference, and customer identity. Use the project’s server event setup. Keep the same event ID and payload when retrying so one event does not count twice.

How do you calculate recurring revenue?

MRR converts each active subscription to a monthly amount. Annual prices divide by 12; quarterly prices divide by 3; weekly prices multiply by 52 ÷ 12. One-time purchases and ads stay outside MRR. Calculate your plan mix.
