Subscription conversion score
Compare your app or web software conversion rates. This score measures conversion, not overall business health.
Conversion score
About this score
How the score works
Each rate scores 100 × your rate ÷ benchmark, capped at 200. Your score is the average of the qualifying measured rates. If only one rate qualifies, the score uses that rate and names it. The trial-based estimate is shown separately and is not scored. A score of 100 matches the benchmark.
Enter rates using the definitions shown beside each input. Missing rates stay out of the score. This comparison does not measure statistical confidence.
This DataDad index measures conversion, not overall business health or a percentile. The rates overlap; retention, refunds, margins, and revenue are not scored. Compare scores only when their included rates and benchmarks match.
Benchmarks and sources
Category medians come from RevenueCat’s State of Subscription Apps 2026, primarily using 2025 data. Checked 19 September 2026.
All 11 categories include all-store medians. App Store and Google Play include trial-to-paid and download-to-paid medians only. All stores uses the report’s pooled group; missing values have no substitute.
Web software uses ChartMogul’s Conversion Report 2026: a January survey of 200 software products, mainly B2B. Values come from its visitor conversion chart. These are reported benchmarks, not app-category medians. No visitor-to-paid benchmark is inferred.
The report covers active RevenueCat subscription apps, not all apps. Geography, price, trial length, and acquisition channels affect comparisons.
Which data should I enter?
For web, enter signups divided by website visitors and signups that pay within six months divided by all signups. Match the selected signup model. Use mature signup cohorts; do not mix mobile and web rates.
For mobile apps, use unique customers from the same acquisition cohort. Allow 30 days for trial starts and 35 days for paid subscriptions. For trial-to-paid, wait for completed trial outcomes and payment recovery.
For published benchmarks, match the report’s customer definitions. A first_open event is an install proxy, not a verified download. Use download counts that match the report’s definition.
Count paid subscriptions only. Exclude one-time purchases. The calculated rate is your trial-start rate × your trial-to-paid rate ÷ 100. Use rates from the same cohort and time period. It excludes direct purchases. Enter a measured rate to compare all paid downloads within 35 days. Do not multiply category medians.
Example: compare one measured conversion rate
The RevenueCat 2026 report gives a 37.7% all-store median trial-to-paid rate for Health & Fitness apps. A measured rate of 40% gives a one-rate score of 100 × 40 ÷ 37.7 ≈ 106.1.
This score compares conversion with that benchmark. It does not measure retention, profitability, statistical confidence, or a percentile. Match the report’s cohort definitions before comparing rates. Source: RevenueCat State of Subscription Apps 2026, checked 19 September 2026.
