FAQ
Web analytics, answered.
What is web analytics?
Web analytics measures how people find and use your website: visitors, pages, sources, countries, devices, and goals. DataDad also connects those visits to the payments that follow.
Do I need a cookie banner?
The default script sets no analytics identity cookies. Your setup and local rules determine whether consent is required. Optional consent mode adds persistent identity after a visitor agrees. Privacy and consent.
Will the script slow down my site?
No. The script is about 1 KB gzipped and loads with defer, so it never blocks your page from rendering.
Does it work with single-page apps?
Yes. The script follows route changes through the browser's history API, so React, Vue, Next.js, and other single-page apps count every page view.
Can I see which source brings revenue?
Yes. Connect Stripe and each payment joins the visit that led to it. Compare sources, campaigns, and landing pages by customers and revenue.
What do I need to install it?
Create a website project, copy its script from Setup, and add it to your site’s shared page template. The script tracks route changes in a single-page app. Check a visit in Live before you add goals.
How do I install it in WordPress, Webflow, or Next.js?
Place the same project script in WordPress’s site-wide head, Webflow’s Head code, or your Next.js root layout. Publish the change, visit a page, and check Live. View the script example.
How do I name campaigns and control consent?
Use the UTM builder for consistent campaign tags. Connect your consent choices with datadad.consent({analytics_storage: "granted"}) or "denied". The cookie banner guide shows both modes.
