DataDad posts down, up-again and expiry alerts to a Discord channel. You need permission to manage webhooks in that channel.
Create a webhook in Discord
- In Discord, open the channel's settings (the gear next to the channel name).
- Select Integrations, then Webhooks, then New Webhook.
- Optionally rename it, for example to
DataDad. DataDad shows this name next to the contact. - Select Copy Webhook URL.
Add it to DataDad
- Open Uptime, then Alerts.
- Under Contacts, select Discord.
- Paste the webhook URL and select Add Discord.
DataDad posts a test message to the channel. The contact is saved when Discord accepts it.
What the messages look like
Each alert is a message with a colored bar: red for down, green for up again, amber for an expiry warning. The title links to the monitor in DataDad. Alerts never mention @everyone, @here or any role.
If you delete the webhook
When Discord no longer accepts the webhook, DataDad pauses the contact. To use the channel again, add a new webhook, or select Resume after you fix it.
