Push notifications show DataDad alerts on your phone or computer, like messages from an app. Turn them on once for each device.
Turn on push on a computer or Android phone
- Open DataDad in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, then Uptime and Alerts.
- Under Contacts, select Push.
- Select Turn on push on this device, then allow notifications when the browser asks.
DataDad sends a test notification. The device shows under Contacts with its browser and system, for example "Chrome on Mac".
Turn on push on iPhone or iPad
iPhone and iPad show notifications only from web apps on the Home Screen (iOS 16.4 or later).
- Open data.dad in Safari and sign in.
- Select the share button, then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
- Open DataDad from the new icon on your Home Screen.
- Open Uptime, then Alerts, select Push, and select Turn on push on this device. Allow notifications.
What you get
- A notification when a monitor goes down, and another when it is up again. The up-again notification replaces the down one.
- Expiry warnings for SSL certificates and domains.
- Tap a notification to open the monitor.
Notifications follow your device's Focus and Do Not Disturb settings. To get DataDad alerts during Focus on iPhone, add DataDad to the apps allowed in that Focus.
Turn push off
To stop notifications on one device, remove it under Contacts, or select Pause. If you block notifications in the browser or delete the Home Screen app, the next alert to that device fails and DataDad pauses it.
